Pokémon at Comic-Con
San Diego, Calif. – Comic-Con 2007, held July 25-29, was a big success -- and
Pokémon was a big part of that success.
Pokémon USA, Inc., was one of more than 750 exhibitors to fill a 460,000-square-foot
exhibition space at the San Diego Convention Center as Comic-Con celebrated its 38th year, drawing
a five-day crowd estimated at 125,000 people.
Comic-Con participants couldn’t get enough of Pokémon’s new Trading Figure
Game:
Next Quest,
with approximately 6,500 people – by far the largest number to play the game so far
-- sitting down and taking five minutes to play a demonstration version. Most people played
twice.
The Pokémon TFG includes more than 40 unique, high-quality figures and an exciting
new spinning mechanism that adds real action to your battles, and kids and parents alike gave it
high marks:
• "It’s easy to learn and fun to play, with a competitive and strategic
element."
• "The figures are done well."
• "The art is awesome."
• "I like that all ages can play."
• "Wow, what a great game!"
• "When are they available?"
The answer to that question is September 19, when the Pokémon TFG is released
in North and South America.
