Official Rules for Redeeming Worlds Travel Awards
Those winning an Invite and Travel Award
to the 2008 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championships to be held August 15–17, 2008, at the
Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, will receive a great prize.*
For North American winners, this prize includes a five (5) day/ four (4) night Travel Award
for themselves and a travel companion (if winner is under age 18) to the Pokémon Trading Card Game
World Championships in Orlando from Thursday, August 14, 2008, through Monday, August 18, 2008,
where the top contestants from three age divisions (Junior, Senior, and Masters) will compete for
the 2008 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championship title.
For all other winners, this prize includes a six (6) day/ five (5) night Travel Award for
themselves and a travel companion (if winner is considered a minor) to the Pokémon Trading Card
Game World Championships in Orlando from Wednesday, August 13, 2008, through Monday, August 18,
2008, where the top contestants from three age divisions (Junior, Senior, and Masters) will compete
for the 2008 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championship title.
Contestants will use their skills, strategies, and creativity at playing the Pokémon Trading
Card Game to compete at this event to win prizes, including scholarships.

Official Rules To Redeem Travel Award and Invitation to 2008 Pokémon World Championships
Description of Travel Award and Invitation
Travel Award trip amenities consist solely of one (two, if winner is considered a
minor) economy-class round-trip air ticket from the major gateway airport closest to prize winner’s
city of residence (as stated on Winner Information Form) to Orlando, Florida. Minors must be
accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or, upon written consent from a parent or legal guardian,
a chaperone who is not a minor. The term "companion" also includes any chaperone.
The invitation to the 2008 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championship ("Invitation")
consists of an invitation to compete at the 2008 Pokémon World Championships (the "Championships").
All other expenses and costs not specified in the Travel Award and Invitation description,
including, but not limited to, transportation to and from airport, meals, in-room movies,
telephone, beverages, taxes, gratuities, incidentals, and any other expenses are the sole
responsibility of the Travel Award winner. Winners and any companions are responsible for payment
of all taxes on Travel Award and any prizes that they may receive at the Championships.
How to Redeem the Travel Award
To redeem your Travel Award and Invitation, the
winner of this invitation must submit all forms provided by the date and instruction indicated to:
World Championships Travel Award, Pokémon USA, Inc., 333 108th Avenue NE, Suite 1900, Bellevue, WA.
98004. If the paperwork is not postmarked by the date indicated, the winner of this prize may be
disqualified and we may award a Travel Award and Invitation to the next eligible player at our
discretion.
In addition, the winner must have an active "My Pokémon" account starting no later than
three (3) days after receiving an official invitation from Pokémon USA, Inc., to the Championships
until at least the last day of the Championships (no purchase necess ary to open this account).

To be awarded the Travel Award, prize winner and any companion must have a valid Social
Security number and complete a W9 form. If winner or companion is not a U.S. taxpayer, another
taxpayer identification number satisfactory to us may be requested. If winner or companion is
subject to U.S income tax, they will be issued an IRS 1099 Form for the Travel Award for prize
values at $600 or more. If the winner or companion is taxable outside the United States, we may
require other applicable documentation from winner as required by law.
In addition, winner and any companion must complete, notarize, and return a Release, Waiver
of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Hold Harmless Agreement to Pokémon USA, Inc., by mail to the
address listed above and by the stated deadline date. A disqualification may result and we may
award a Travel Award and Invitation to the next eligible player at our discretion if a properly
completed Release Form is not returned to Pokémon USA, Inc., within the specified time.
Limitations:
Travel is subject to airline and hotel restrictions, blackout dates, and availability. Final
choice of departure and destination airports, airline carrier, travel dates, flight times, and/or
choice of destination hotel accommodations is at the sole discretion of Pokémon USA, Inc. Travel
Award winner and travel companions must abide by, and are subject to, any and all minimum/maximum
height, weight, and health-related requirements or restrictions set forth by product and/or service
providers and are responsible for any personal insurance (as applicable). No credit or cash will be
given for any unused portion of the Travel Award. Travel Award stated in these Rules is "AS-IS" and
no trip extensions, hotel extensions, or changes will be made except at Pokémon USA, Inc.’s sole
discretion. The Invitation and Travel Award are not transferable. Void where prohibited or
restricted by law. The Invitation and Travel Award have no cash value and are not redeemable in
full or part for cash. Should the prize winner be unable to attend the Championships, we may award
a Travel Award and Invitation to the next eligible player at our discretion. Players suspended from
Pokémon Organized Play are ineligible to compete in the Championships or for Travel Awards. Pokémon
USA, Inc., is not responsible for the cancellation of the event or any cancellation or delays in
transportation or other travel accommodations due to any unforeseeable interruption, and Pokémon
USA, Inc., reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the Championships if an
act of God or similar event interferes or if other causes corrupt or affect the safety, fairness,
or proper conduct of the Championships.

Agreement to Limit Pokémon Liability:
BY ACCEPTING AN INVITATION OR A TRAVEL AWARD, WINNER (OR, IF WINNER IS A MINOR
UNDER THE LAWS OF THE LOCATION WHERE WINNER RESIDES, WINNER’S PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN) AGREES TO
RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS POKÉMON AND THE POKEMON COMPANY, AND THEIR AFFILIATES AND THEIR
RESPECTIVE SUBSIDIARIES, SUPPLIERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, REPRESENTATIVES, AGENTS AND EMPLOYEES (THE
"POKÉMON PARTIES") FROM AND AGAINST ALL CLAIMS, EXPENSES, LOSSES, OR DAMAGES TO PROPERTY OR PERSON
OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DEATH, CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, BY THE
ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE, OR USE OF THE CERTIFICATE, TRAVEL AWARD, INVITATION, OR
PARTICIPATING IN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS OR ANY EVENTS OR PERFORMANCES OF ANY KIND ATTENDED BY WINNER IN
CONNECTION THEREWITH. THE POKÉMON PARTIES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO WINNER OR WINNER’S PARENTS,
GUARDIANS, HEIRS, OR AFFILIATES, FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, INDIRECT, OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. THIS RELEASE EXTENDS TO CLAIMS FOR THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE POKÉMON PARTIES.
Use of Likeness
Except where legally prohibited, winner (or if winner is a minor where he or she
resides, winner’s parent or legal guardian) grants permission for Pokémon USA, Inc., and its
affiliates and those acting under its authority to use worldwide his or her name, picture, voice
recording, deck composition, or methods of play, use, or collecting of Pokémon trading cards and
likeness and/or moving images of winner in any manner or media whatsoever for trade or commercial
purposes, for promotion and/or for sale of Pokémon products with no right to additional
compensation or right of approval.
Governing Law
By accepting the Invitation or Travel Award, the winner of this Certificate (or if
winner is a minor where he or she resides, winner’s parent or legal guardian) agrees that these
Rules are governed, construed, and interpreted under the laws of the State of New York without
regard to conflicts of law principles, and that any legal action brought by winner or his or her
parent or legal guardian or Pokémon with regard to or arising out of any matters set forth in this
document shall be brought only in an appropriate state or federal court in New York County, New
York, and consents to the jurisdiction and venue of such courts for these purposes.
