Pokémon Trainers Battle Around the World!

Pokémon Video Game Championships

Four new Champions were crowned this weekend at the latest Pokémon Video Game Championships events.

This spring and summer, Pokémon Trainers across the globe are battling for a chance to become a World Champion at the 2009 Pokémon Video Game World Championships! Trainers in the United States and Japan are playing Pokémon™ Platinum Version , while Pokémon Trainers in Europe are playing Pokémon™ Diamond Version and Pokémon™ Pearl Version . When the competitors meet on the ultimate stage at the Pokémon Video Game World Championships, all players will compete playing Pokémon™ Platinum Version .

On June 13th, the final U.S. Regional tournament took place at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. On the same day, the second of the European Qualifier tournaments took place in Berlin, Germany. It was an awesome day of Pokémon battles around the world!

We had a chance to catch up with both the Senior and Junior division Regional Champions from the U.S. event, each of whom earned guaranteed competitors slots and Travel Allowances to participate in the 2009 Pokémon Video Game National Championships in St. Louis, Missouri.
